Winter Solstice

Based on an ancient fear the Sun's failing light would never return, our ancestors held ceremonies keeping vigil through the night with fires burning brightly to help the sun (Goodness) battle darkness (evil).

Temps in the low 40's with a wind chill of 34 degrees. Folks came in today to celebrate a wedding. I worked into the dark to turn off their lights. Drained the water lines for the night time temps predicted to be in the 20's.

I think a nice big bonfire would be great tonight.
