Butterflies love these flowers. As you look closely you can see what looks like more little flowers in the center. All packed full of goodness for the butterflies' benefit. In late spring, we sow the seed directly in the garden and cover the area with some chicken wire until the plants are up a little bit. (This protects them from digging armadillos.) The zinnias love the sun and this hot dry weather.
