Comfrey

Comfrey (Symphytum officinale) is a perennial herb of the Boraginaceae family.

We at ARE call it the magic leaf. If you have a bug bite, scrape, etc. take a piece off and rub it on. It is a major ingredient in many herbal ointments for its healing properties. This photo was taken in the cottage garden by the Sales office. This plant needs summer shade in Central Texas.

(Reminder... make certain you know what leaf you actually picking and rubbing on your skin! Seek medical attention for serious wounds.)

I have been away from ARE for a couple days (days off and the setting up). Saturday, March 28, Robbi and I were manning the ARE booth at the 1st Texas International Olive Festival. New ARE photos to come later today.
