Sweet Autumn Clematis

Sweet Autumn Clematis - Clematis terniflora (Ranunculaceae family) blooms late summer to fall. USDA zones 4a to 7b. Sun to part shade.

The common name indicates the sweet scent this lovely vine will emit on a warm summer/fall evening. Some areas of the country consider this a noxious invader but our heat and little rainfall seems to keep it in check in Central Texas.

Hmmm.... Zone 7b? - Seems to do really well in my backyard - New Braunfels - Zone 8. Perhaps this would indicate planting this perennial vine in more shade as the zone numbers get higher.

One gallon plants for sale, in bloom, $8.99.
