Rose de Rescht

At the San Antonio gardens we have her listed as a once a year bloomer. Clearly she is providing color today. The first time I saw her bloom it reminded me of zinnias in the summer only with a nice rose scent.

This photo shows an older flower on the same bush. Still pretty. Rose de Rescht is a cold loving Damask but thrives nicely here (even in a nursery pot) waiting for that special rose collector. May have been named for the Persian city of Rescht.
