Alchymist

Growing on a teepee trellis is Alchymist who blooms in the Spring. Truly looking like the rose is changing into gold as she displays shades of yellow, apricot, peach, and gold. Beautiful blooms for an antique rose garden.

Joe Woodard

Our first look* at the bloom of Joe Woodard. Named for one of the original Texas Rose Rustlers this rose shows a bit more coloring than the catalog suggests. Perhaps the cooler weather is bringing out another lovely aspect of this rose.

This lovely frilly and fragrant bloom is smaller than F.J. Lindheimer's bloom. This 3-4' upright bush would be a great complement to the F.J. Lindheimer in your garden.

*This new rose has been offered online in the mail order catalog for a little while now. As new rose offerings' inventory "grows" we are able to receive these new roses at our San Antonio retail location.

Random rose photos

Light colored rose to the right of the greenhouse is "Stephen F. Austin" one of the Pioneer Series. Actually a light yellow, it has an incredible scent.

The light color rose on the post is Perle des Jardins, Climber. The red shrub hedge is Cramoisi Superieur.

This photo taken 4/4/09. First arbor is Jaune Desprez, the gazebo is covered with Crepuscule.

This is Crepuscule on the arbor in the blue (Moroccan) courtyard.

A couple views of the arches to the Hacienda. Murky morning.

Arches later in the afternoon. A little rain would really help green up our lawn.

Mrs. Pierre S. duPont

Yellow roses on Wednesday? Well I will try. Mrs. Pierre S. duPont a Hybrid Tea from 1929 with lovely long stems for cutting. Looks a little light in this photo but truly a nice yellow.
